Two days of Formula 1
What a week! First the tests with Ferrari, then those with Sauber. I am happy and proud of the work we have done in Barcelona, where I completed about 200 laps; the only small problem I encountered was on the morning of the first Sauber test, when I veered off the track – luckily without any consequences. It wasn’t anything serious, and in the afternoon I got on with the program without further setbacks. At the wheel of the Ferrari I took third place, accomplishing the tasks that the team requested. The car is fantastic and, though the body is not tailor-made for me, I had fun pushing it to its limits. As Sauber’s official third pilot I know the car well and I didn’t run into any particular difficulties, except for the small issue I mentioned before. I carried out the tasks that were assigned to me, listening and learning a lot, during what proved to be a very intense day. These two days of testing were important for the future too, as I have accumulated experience but also a lot of… miles. My head is already in Montecarlo now, where in a week (May 23rd to 24th), the GP2 will be present alongside the F1 in one of the season’s most spectacular Grand Prix.

Due giorni in Formula 1
Che settimana, ragazzi! Prima i test con la Ferrrari e poi quelli con la Sauber. Sono davvero felice e orgoglioso del lavoro che abbiamo svolto a Barcellona, dove in totale ho compiuto circa 200 giri, incontrando qualche problema soltanto all’inizio dei test con la Sauber, quando in mattinata sono incappato in un’uscita di pista senza conseguenze. Ma non è stato nulla di grave e nel pomeriggio il programma è andato avanti senza difficoltà. Al volante della Rossa ho chiuso al 3º posto, svolgendo il lavoro che mi è stato chiesto dal team. La macchina è fantastica e, anche se la scocca non è proprio tagliata su misura per me, mi sono divertito a spingerla al massimo. La Sauber, essendo da quest’anno il suo terzo pilota, la conosco bene e non ho avuto difficoltà particolari, tranne il citato problemino iniziale. Anche in questo caso ho svolto con cura i compiti che mi sono stati assegnati, ascoltando e imparando tantissimo, portando a termine una giornata molto intensa. Sono stati due giorni molto importanti anche in prospettiva futura, ho incamerato esperienza e tanti… chilometri. Adesso la testa è però già a Montecarlo dove, tra una settimana (23-24 maggio), la GP2 affiancherà la F1 in uno dei GP più belli e spettacolari dell’anno.
