GP2 Series – Monza, 5-7 September

The Monza GP2 weekend was a disappointing one for Raffaele Marciello. Things had started out very well, the Caslano driver was able to take fourth place in Friday’s qualifying round, thus securing a second row start on the grid in race 1. Sadly, the race was short lived: a problem at the start pushed Marciello back to the middle of the group, where he had to avoid two cars that had spun-out right in front of him. He ended up off the track, leaving Lello to start race 2 from 27th place. A good getaway propelled him up to 13th, but a risky manoeuvre from another driver forced him off the track again. A real shame, considering the good results obtained on Friday. Belgium’s Stoffel Vandoorne and England’s Jolyon Palmer were the victors in Monza.

GP2 Series – Monza, 5-7 Settembre
