Fuji, 27 September 2026: Raffaele Marciello finished third at the 6 Hours of Fuji, round six of the 2026 FIA World Endurance Championship, driving the #15 BMW M Hybrid V8 for BMW M Team WRT alongside Kevin Magnussen and Dries Vanthoor.

The result came from a comeback drive after a weekend shaped by difficult weather. Hypercar qualifying and Hyperpole were cancelled due to heavy rain, and the #15 BMW started from 14th.

Over the six hours, Marciello, Magnussen and Vanthoor steadily gained ground thanks to a solid performance and BMW M Team WRT’s strategy, climbing through the field to the front-running positions.

The decisive phase came in the final hour, when a Safety Car bunched up the field and opened up new strategic options. BMW M Team WRT chose to keep Vanthoor on used tyres at the final pit stop, temporarily moving the #15 up to second place.

In the closing stages, the BMW gave up second place to the #36 Alpine and crossed the line in third.

Victory went to the #8 Toyota of Ryō Hirakawa, Sébastien Buemi and Brendon Hartley, ahead of the #36 Alpine. The #15 BMW M Hybrid V8 completed the podium after 203 laps.

For Marciello, Magnussen and Vanthoor, this is their third podium of the 2026 season with the #15 BMW. The Fuji result is also another important finish for BMW M Team WRT in the FIA WEC season.

After climbing from 14th on the grid to the podium in Japan, Raffaele Marciello and BMW M Team WRT now turn their attention to the next rounds of the FIA World Endurance Championship.
