TOP TEN FINISH FOR RAFFAELE MARCIELLO AT THE SPA 24 HOURS
The Spa 24 Hours returned to the legendary Spa-Francorchamps circuit for one of the most prestigious events on the GT World Challenge Europe calendar. Raffaele Marciello represented BMW Motorsport aboard the #98 BMW M4 GT3 EVO, sharing driving duties with Augusto Farfus and Jake Dennis.
The weekend began with the traditional free practice and qualifying sessions, during which the German team focused on preparing for the most important GT race of the season. With a grid of more than 70 GT3 cars and the world’s top endurance drivers, every detail proved crucial.
Starting from 17th on the grid, the race was fiercely contested from the opening hours, featuring multiple safety car periods, incidents, and constant changes at the front of the field. The #98 BMW crew maintained a competitive pace throughout, spending much of the race battling among the leading contenders for a podium finish.
BMW’s hopes were compromised by a puncture that forced the #98 BMW into an unscheduled pit stop, costing valuable time and several positions. From that point on, Marciello, Farfus, and Dennis launched an impressive recovery drive, making the most of the strong race pace of the BMW M4 GT3 EVO to fight their way back through the field during the night and into Sunday morning.
Despite the crew’s determined efforts, the time lost due to the puncture ultimately prevented them from rejoining the battle for the podium. After 24 hours of racing, the #98 BMW crossed the finish line in 10th place overall, securing a top-ten finish in the world’s most prestigious GT endurance race.
While there is understandable disappointment over what might have been without the puncture, the competitiveness shown throughout the weekend confirmed the strength and potential of the BMW crew, who will be aiming to return to the front in the upcoming rounds of the season.

Marciello ha rappresentato i colori della BMW ufficiale BMW M4 GT3 EVO #98, condivisa con Augusto Farfus e Jake Dennis.
Il weekend è iniziato con le tradizionali sessioni di prove libere e qualifiche, durante le quali il team tedesco ha lavorato per preparare al meglio la gara più importante
della stagione GT. In una griglia composta da oltre 70 vetture GT3 e dai migliori piloti endurance del panorama internazionale, ogni dettaglio si è rivelato determinante.
Partendo in 17° posizione, La gara è stata estremamente combattuta fin dalle prime ore, con numerose neutralizzazioni, incidenti e continui cambi al vertice della classifica. L’equipaggio della BMW #98 ha mantenuto un ritmo competitivo, rimanendo in lotta con il gruppo di testa per le prime tre posizioni, durante buona parte della corsa.
Le ambizioni della BMW sono però state compromesse da una foratura che ha costretto la BMW #98 a una sosta supplementare ai box, facendo perdere tempo
prezioso e numerose posizioni. Da quel momento Marciello, Farfus e Dennis hanno iniziato una lunga rimonta, sfruttando il buon passo gara della BMW M4 GT3 EVO per recuperare terreno nel corso della notte e della mattinata di domenica.
Nonostante gli sforzi dell’equipaggio, il tempo perso in seguito all’imprevisto non ha permesso di rientrare nella lotta per il podio. Dopo ventiquattro ore di gara, la BMW #98 ha tagliato il traguardo in decima posizione assoluta, conquistando comunque un piazzamento nella top ten della più importante gara GT al mondo.
Rimane il rammarico per una corsa che avrebbe potuto regalare un risultato ben
diverso senza l’episodio della foratura. Allo stesso tempo, la competitività dimostrata durante tutto il weekend conferma il potenziale dell’equipaggio BMW, pronto a
tornare protagonista nei prossimi appuntamenti del GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup.
