BREATHTAKING VICTORY FOR RAFFAELE MARCIELLO AT THE 24H NORDSCHLEIFE
After a long battle that lasted nearly half the race against one of the Porsche 911 GT3s, Raffaele Marciello won the 2025 ADAC Ravenol 24 Hours of Nürburgring on the spectacular circuit that combines both the GP-Strecke and the Nordschleife loop for a total of 25 km. The Swiss driver, fresh from the 24 Hours of Le Mans, took part in his second consecutive endurance race, this time alongside Augusto Farfus, Kelvin van der Linde, and Jesse Krohn at the wheel of the #98 BMW M4 GT3 EVO for Rowe Racing, competing in the SP9 class reserved for GT3 cars.
During qualifying, the #98 crew secured 17th place with a time of 8:16.738. The race start was entrusted to Farfus, who delivered a spectacular opening lap, overtaking seven cars and immediately moving into the top 10. Before sunset, a power outage hit the paddock, forcing race control to issue a red flag for a couple of hours and restart the race with a full starting procedure at 7:45 PM local time. Rowe Racing quickly made their way up to third place in just a few laps, a position they held for the remainder of the race.
Marciello took the wheel during the most crucial and intense part of the race—the final hours—showing that the team was counting on the Swiss driver to go for the win. And he did not disappoint: despite a penalty the BMW team had to serve for an overly quick pit stop, Marciello closed the gap to the leading #911 Porsche and engaged in a thrilling battle that lasted until the checkered flag. The multiple GT World Champion pushed his rivals to the limit until they made a costly mistake, which resulted in a penalty that ultimately determined the race outcome.
VITTORIA MOZZAFIATO PER RAFFAELE MARCIELLO ALLA 24 ORE DEL NORDSCHLEIFE
Dopo una lunghissima battaglia durata quasi metà gara con una delle Porsche 911 GT3, Raffaele Marciello ha vinto la ADAC Ravenol 24h del Nurburgring 2025, sullo spettacolare circuito che include sia il GP-Strecke sia l’anello del Nordschleife per un totale di 25km. Il pilota svizzero, di ritorno dalla 24h di Le Mans, ha preso parte alla sua seconda corsa di durata consecutiva, questa volta in compagnia di Augusto Farfus, Kelvin van der Linde e Jesse Krohn alla guida della BMW M4 GT3 EVO #98 del team Rowe Racing, competendo in categoria SP9, riservata alle vetture GT3.
Durante le qualificazioni, l’equipaggio #98 ha ottenuto la 17esima posizione con un tempo di 8:16.738. La partenza della 24h è stata affidata a Farfus, il quale è stato autore di uno spettacolare primo giro che lo ha portato al sorpasso di ben sette vetture, portandosi immediatamente nella top-10. Prima dell’arrivo del tramonto il paddock è stato colpito da un blackout che ha costretto la direzione gara a porre la bandiera rossa per un paio d’ore, riproponendo la procedura di partenza completa per tornare in gara alle ore 19:45 locali. Il team Rowe è stato di nuovo
protagonista, salendo fino alla terza posizione nell’arco di pochi passaggi, posizione che non è mai stata abbandonata durante il resto della corsa.
Marciello è salito in macchina soprattutto nella parte più delicata e tirata, ovvero il finale della gara, dimostrando come il team puntasse proprio sul pilota svizzero per tentare di ottenere il successo. Lello non ha deluso le aspettative: nonostante una penalità che la BMW ha dovuto scontare per aver effettuato un pit stop troppo veloce, Marciello ha annullato il distacco con la Porsche #911 che in quel momento comandava la corsa, ingaggiandola in un duello che è durato fino alla bandiera a scacchi. Il pluricampione del mondo GT ha portato al limite gli avversari sino a quando non hanno commesso un errore che gli è costata una penalità risultata determinante per l’esito finale della sfida.
