COMEBACK TO SIXTH PLACE FOR RAFFAELE MARCIELLO IN THE 6 HOURS OF PAUL RICARD
The 2026 season of the GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup kicked off today at Circuit Paul Ricard with an intense and hard-fought race, in which Raffaele Marciello secured a sixth-place finish at the wheel of the BMW #98 entered by ROWE Racing, shared with Augusto Farfus and Jake Dennis.
For the crew of car #98, the French weekend had not started in the best way. A difficult qualifying session forced Marciello and his teammates to start from the back of the grid, making it immediately clear that the 6 Hours of Paul Ricard would be a race to build with patience, pace, and strategy.
During the race, however, ROWE Racing reacted in the best possible way, delivering a solid and consistent performance. The BMW #98 showed competitive pace throughout the race, allowing the crew to gain ground stint after stint and steadily climb up the order in an extremely competitive field.
Thanks to an error-free performance and effective management of the various phases of the race, Marciello, Farfus, and Dennis managed to fight their way back into the leading positions, completing a significant comeback to sixth place overall at the checkered flag.
The final result represents an important haul to start the endurance season, especially in light of the difficulties encountered on Saturday. At the same time, there is an awareness of having shown promising potential, which could become a valuable asset in the upcoming rounds of the championship.
For Raffaele Marciello, the Paul Ricard trip therefore ends with positive indications: race pace, car competitiveness, and crew consistency have confirmed a solid foundation to approach the rest of the season with confidence.
RIMONTA FINO AL SESTO POSTO PER RAFFAELE MARCIELLO NELLA 6 ORE DEL PAUL RICARD
La stagione 2026 del GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup si è aperta oggi al Circuit Paul Ricard con una gara intensa e combattuta, nella quale Raffaele Marciello ha conquistato un sesto posto finale al volante della BMW #98 di ROWE Racing, condivisa con Augusto Farfus e Jake Dennis.
Per l’equipaggio della vettura #98 il fine settimana francese non era iniziato nel migliore dei modi. Una qualifica complicata aveva infatti costretto Marciello e i suoi compagni a partire dalle retrovie, rendendo subito chiaro come la 6 Ore del Paul Ricard sarebbe stata una gara da costruire con pazienza, ritmo e strategia.
Nel corso della corsa, però, ROWE Racing ha saputo reagire nel migliore dei modi, mettendo in mostra una prestazione solida e concreta. La BMW #98 ha evidenziato un passo competitivo per tutta la durata della gara, permettendo all’equipaggio di recuperare terreno stint dopo stint e di risalire progressivamente la classifica in un contesto estremamente equilibrato.
Grazie a una prova priva di errori e a una gestione efficace delle diverse fasi della corsa, Marciello, Farfus e Dennis sono riusciti a riportarsi nelle posizioni di vertice, completando una rimonta significativa fino al sesto posto assoluto sotto la bandiera a scacchi.
Il risultato finale rappresenta un bottino importante per iniziare la stagione endurance, soprattutto alla luce delle difficoltà incontrate al sabato. Allo stesso tempo, resta la consapevolezza di aver mostrato un potenziale interessante, che potrà diventare un’arma preziosa nei prossimi appuntamenti del campionato.
