The endurance season kicked off with one of the most iconic events on the international calendar: the Bathurst 12 Hour, held at the legendary Mount Panorama Circuit. A unique track, set among the sweeping elevation changes of the Australian mountain, where speed, precision and traffic management make all the difference.
Raffaele Marciello tackled the Australian classic at the wheel of the BMW M4 GT3 EVO, sharing driving duties with two outstanding teammates: Valentino Rossi and Augusto Farfus. A top-tier line-up combining experience, pace and strong chemistry in one of the most demanding races of the year.
From the very first free practice sessions, the trio worked intensively on set-up to find the best compromise between top speed along the ultra-fast Conrod Straight and stability through the technical mountain section. In qualifying, the car confirmed its competitiveness at the front of the field, providing a solid foundation for the twelve-hour contest.
The race unfolded at an extremely high pace, with several neutralisations that repeatedly bunched up the field. Marciello managed his stints with great composure, maintaining a consistent and competitive rhythm, while Rossi and Farfus played a decisive role in keeping the BMW firmly among the leaders, avoiding mistakes on a circuit where the walls show no mercy.
In the closing stages, the fight for the podium intensified further. Lello, called upon for one of the decisive stints, defended his position with determination against rival attacks, making the most of traffic and restarts following safety car periods.
After twelve gruelling hours, a prestigious third place overall was secured. A highly valuable result at one of the world’s most challenging circuits, achieved together with Valentino Rossi and Augusto Farfus, confirming Raffaele Marciello’s competitiveness in the great international endurance classics and marking an extremely positive start to the season.
