EIGHTH PLACE FOR RAFFAELE MARCIELLO AT THE 24 HOURS OF DAYTONA WITH BMW #25
Daytona Beach (Florida, USA) – January 25, 2026 – Raffaele Marciello concluded the 64th edition of the Rolex 24 at Daytona with an eighth-place finish overall in the GTP class, driving the BMW M Hybrid V8 #25 fielded by BMW M Team WRT alongside Philipp Eng, Marco Wittmann and former Formula 1 driver Kevin Magnussen.
The race weekend at the legendary Daytona International Speedway saw the #25 crew work consistently throughout practice sessions and qualifying. In qualifying, the BMW #25 set a best lap of 1:35.347, securing 10th place in class on the starting grid.
During the race, the team remained in the leading group on several occasions, also taking advantage of full-course cautions and strategy calls to gain positions. In the final hours, the BMW #25 even took the overall lead at a key moment of the race, confirming the competitiveness of the package in terms of race pace when conditions allowed. However, over the full 24-hour distance, the car lacked the outright speed required to convert the comeback into a more ambitious result, and the crew ultimately finished in eighth place.
After the race, Marciello commented:
“It was a tough race. We tried everything and I handed the car over in third place… but in the end we were not fast enough to aim for a better result.”

Daytona Beach (Florida, USA) – 25 gennaio 2026 – Si è chiusa con un ottavo posto finale la 64ª edizione della Rolex 24 at Daytona per Raffaele Marciello, impegnato nella classe GTP al volante della BMW M Hybrid V8 #25 schierata da BMW M Team WRT insieme a Philipp Eng, Marco Wittmann e l’ex Formula 1 Kevin Magnussen.
Il fine settimana sul leggendario tracciato del Daytona International Speedway aveva visto l’equipaggio della #25 lavorare con continuità tra prove e qualifiche: in qualifica la BMW #25 ha fatto segnare il riferimento di 1:35.347, ottenendo la 10ª posizione di classe sulla griglia di partenza.
In gara, la squadra è rimasta nel gruppo di testa in più fasi, approfittando anche delle neutralizzazioni e della strategia per risalire posizioni: nelle ore finali la BMW #25 è arrivata persino al comando in un passaggio chiave della corsa, confermando la competitività del pacchetto sul passo di gara nei momenti migliori. Tuttavia, nel complesso delle 24 ore, non è arrivata la velocità necessaria per trasformare la rimonta in un risultato più ambizioso, e l’equipaggio ha chiuso in ottava piazza.
Al termine della corsa, Marciello ha commentato: “È stata una gara difficile. Abbiamo provato di tutto e ho consegnato l’auto in terza posizione…, ma alla fine non eravamo veloci abbastanza per ambire a un risultato migliore”.
