FIFTH PLACE FOR RAFFAELE MARCIELLO IN THE CHAOTIC 3 HOURS OF MONZA!
The GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup visited the Autodromo Nazionale Monza for the second round of the 2026 season. Raffaele Marciello took to the track behind the wheel of the #98 BMW M4 GT3 EVO entered by ROWE Racing, sharing driving duties with Augusto Farfus and Jake Dennis.
The Monza weekend took place in one of the most competitive environments in international GT racing, featuring a very large grid and all the major manufacturers on the entry list. The #98 BMW crew focused primarily on race pace, aiming to maximize the car’s potential over the three-hour contest.
The race was immediately affected by several incidents and neutralizations. In the opening stages, a major multi-car accident occurred at the first chicane, an incident that contributed to making the entire race particularly chaotic.
In these challenging circumstances, the #98 BMW had to build its comeback throughout the various stints, alternating between difficult moments and highly competitive phases. Marciello, Farfus, and Dennis managed to stay out of major trouble and take advantage of the numerous Full Course Yellow periods that characterized the race, gradually gaining ground on their rivals.
At the end of the three-hour race, the ROWE Racing crew secured fifth place overall in the Pro class, finishing as the highest-placed BMW entry. The #98 BMW M4 GT3 EVO completed 79 laps, crossing the finish line just over three seconds behind fourth place in an extremely close final classification.
Speaking after the race, Marciello described Monza as a “crazy” race, highlighting the exceptionally high number of incidents and contacts that influenced the final result. Given the circumstances and the complexity of the event, fifth place still represents an important points haul for the #98 BMW crew in terms of the championship standings.
For ROWE Racing, the Italian weekend therefore ends with valuable points and the knowledge that the team still has the potential to fight at the front in the upcoming rounds of the GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup.
QUINTA POSIZIONE PER RAFFAELE MARCIELLO NELLA CAOTICA 3 ORE DI MONZA!
Il GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup ha fatto tappa all’Autodromo Nazionale Monza per il secondo appuntamento della stagione 2026. Raffaele Marciello è sceso in pista al volante della BMW M4 GT3 EVO #98 del team ROWE Racing, condividendo la vettura con Augusto Farfus e Jake Dennis.
Il weekend brianzolo si è svolto in uno dei contesti più competitivi dell’intero panorama GT internazionale, con una griglia estremamente numerosa e tutti i principali costruttori presenti al via. L’equipaggio della BMW #98 ha lavorato soprattutto in ottica gara, cercando di massimizzare il potenziale della vettura sulle tre ore di corsa.
La gara è stata immediatamente condizionata da numerosi incidenti e neutralizzazioni. Già nelle fasi iniziali si è verificato un maxi incidente che ha coinvolto diverse vetture alla prima variante, episodio che ha contribuito a rendere particolarmente caotico l’intero svolgimento della corsa.
In questo scenario complicato, la BMW #98 ha dovuto costruire la propria rimonta nel corso dei vari stint, alternando momenti difficili a fasi molto competitive. Marciello, Farfus e Dennis sono riusciti a evitare problemi maggiori e a sfruttare le continue Full Course Yellow che hanno caratterizzato la gara, recuperando progressivamente terreno nei confronti degli avversari.
Al termine delle tre ore, l’equipaggio ROWE Racing ha conquistato la quinta posizione assoluta nella classe Pro, risultando il migliore tra gli equipaggi BMW al traguardo. La BMW M4 GT3 EVO #98 ha completato 79 giri, chiudendo a poco più di tre secondi dal quarto posto in una classifica finale estremamente compatta.
Nel post-gara, lo stesso Marciello ha definito Monza una corsa “folle”, sottolineando il numero elevatissimo di incidenti e contatti che hanno influenzato il risultato finale. Considerate le circostanze e la complessità della gara, il quinto posto rappresenta comunque un bottino importante in ottica campionato per l’equipaggio della BMW #98.
Per ROWE Racing il fine settimana italiano si chiude quindi con punti preziosi e con la consapevolezza di avere ancora il potenziale per lottare nelle posizioni di vertice nei prossimi appuntamenti del GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup.
